Progress can be achieved for everyone, but it takes the commitment of all Americans with diverse social perspectives to engage in healthy national discourse. Although the United States faces enormous economic, social, and politic challenges at the moment, the best solution for getting back on the right track involves all of us coming together to share our ideas and opinions on how to make America strong once again.
Oftentimes, we forget that our elected leaders are just one part of how to change our nation for the better. We need to appreciate the fact that we are guaranteed freedoms by the Constitution, which means that we have not only the freedom, but indeed, the responsibility to take part in civic engagement so that we, as a nation, can improve and meet the great challenges facing us now, and in the future. Whether you are Hispanic, African-American, White, Native-American, or Asian-American, share your unique social perspectives, and help America realize its promise.
Lending your voice is extremely important, but equally, and perhaps more important is being able to listen to other social perspectives, and no matter the apparent dissention in national politics, we should strive to share our ideas and listen to others as much as possible. As citizens of the United States, we all need to realize that we do have the power to make a significant difference.
